Harrier Grange help 'Make the world better with a sweater'

Last updated: 3.24pm, Tuesday 10th December 2019 by

Residents and all of the staff at Harrier Grange Care Home dug out their favourite Christmas pullovers in support of a children’s charity.

Everyone at Harrier Grange Care Home popped on their best festive sweater in aid of Save The Children’s Christmas Jumper Day.

The event is an annual fundraiser where everyone is encouraged to donate £2 and wear a Christmas jumper instead of their normal work clothes or uniform, with all funds raised being donated to the charity.

This year’s campaign aimed to ‘make the world better with a sweater’ and the charity’s efforts have helped children all around the world with funds raised from its annual campaign, from providing food and shelter in The Philippines after the typhoon caused devastation, to sponsoring reading initiatives in Rwanda.

Harrier Grange care home manager George Radoicovici said: “Christmas is a time when we want to lift the spirits of our residents with some festive fun and also help them to find ways to show goodwill too. The Christmas Jumper Day is a great way of combining the two and, of course, is such a wonderful cause. The £2 donations from sponsorship for wearing a Christmas jumper can change the lives of children around the world.”

I think everyone deserves a pat on the back with their efforts - the photographs shows that lots of fun was had whilst raising money for such a great cause. Well done Harrier Grange!
