Museum of Army Flying Visit
Last updated: 5.32pm, Wednesday 24th January 2018
Our residents, Kath and Charles, enjoyed visiting the Museum of Army Flying in Middle Wallop this week.
We were able to see the impressive aviation engineering from the first and second war.
Charles had fought in the war effort by fuelling the sea planes that would come to land in the Seychelles where he was stationed, naturally he took a real interest in the aircrafts on show. Even mentioning that at 95 years old the information on show was educational!
To Kath's surprise she was greeted by her daughter and son-in-law on the trip! She said usually planes and army vehicles would not appeal to her but she was rather taken in by the history of the airfield and information at hand.
Our Activities Co-Ordinator, Chris Martin, said: "We had a great day at the Museum, and enjoyed lunch in the delightful cafe overlooking the airfield."
"We will all be going back soon I'm sure!"
