Celebrating International Nurses Day

At Harrier Grange, we recently came together to mark International Nurses Day, taking time to honour and reflect on the incredible contributions of our nursing team. The 12th May was a heartfelt celebration of the compassion, professionalism, and dedication that define our care every single day.
The day held special significance as we recognised not only our current nurses but also our residents who once dedicated their lives to the nursing profession. Their stories were shared with warmth and pride and reminded us of the unwavering commitment that sits at the heart of nursing, past and present.
Our celebrations were truly centred around the values that shape life at Harrier Grange: kindness, trust, passion, respect, and inclusivity. Staff and residents joined in a thoughtful celebration that included thank-you cards, flowers, personalised recognition for team members, and shared memories over afternoon tea.

There was a genuine sense of gratitude in the air, and many of our residents expressed just how meaningful it was to see our nurses celebrated in this way. This event had a clear and lasting impact on our community. It uplifted morale across the team, reinforcing how valued and appreciated our nurses are. For residents who had once worked as nurses themselves, the day sparked a sense of identity and pride that stayed with them long after the tea and cake had been enjoyed. It was a powerful reminder of the importance of recognition and community, which is something we strive to foster every day.
April Employees of the Month
We also took this opportunity to shine a light on our Employees of the Month for April. A warm congratulations goes to Lisa and Dolores, whose dedication and compassion are never unnoticed. Thank you both for all that you bring to Harrier Grange.

Resident Spotlight: Stefano Albiani
This month's resident spotlight is for Stefano. It’s impossible not to smile when Stefano Albiani is in the room. He is a much-loved member of the Harrier Grange family and brings joy and energy to our days through his passion for music.
Originally from Naples, Stefano has led a fascinating life. From working as a chef to being a food and wine representative for Alivini, his talents are as varied as they are impressive. But it’s his love of singing that really makes him stand out here. Having performed in top hotels across Tenerife, Stefano’s musical talent is undeniable—and his rendition of Frank Sinatra’s ‘My Way’ has become something of a legend in our home.
Whether it's the classic crooners or the smooth sounds of a saxophone, Stefano is never far from a melody. He particularly enjoys days when we welcome entertainers, often joining in with warmth, flair, and a voice that still holds every note with grace. We feel incredibly lucky to have Stefano with us. His musical gifts continue to enrich life at Harrier Grange, bringing people together and lifting spirits in a way that only music can.
