Being creative has a plethora of mental and physical benefits for residents; whatever residents end up creating, they’ll almost certainly have fun while doing it.
Despite the topic of a particular Arts & Crafts session, we strongly encourage all residents to engage and actively participate in as many of these sessions as possible. Experience has taught us that older adults who participate in regular Arts & Crafts activities feel happier and more socially connected; residents are able to challenge their hand-eye coordination, memory and motor skills, and build camaraderie as they join others in learning something new. From improving cognition and memory though to feeling relaxed and in control, there are an abundance of reasons as to why we believe all residents should ignite their creativity and enjoy all the benefits that come along with it.

When it comes to our Arts & Crafts programmes we’ve always looked to our residents and pleasant surroundings for inspiration. All sessions are designed specifically for our amazing residents, with the goal of motivating and inspiring everyone who takes part.

We strongly advocate for our residents to lead their lives as they wish, and we do everything within our power to facilitate this.
Each Arts & Crafts session here at Harrier Grange Care Home is different, packed with variety and fun. Following the traditional yearly calendar, we make every effort to celebrate each holiday and season throughout the year. From painting and drawing to making recycled-buttons tree’s to celebrate World Environment Day, our Activities Coordinator goes above and beyond to create a programme that is engaging and diverse.
All creations that residents make are their property, and they decide what they would like to do with the masterpieces they have made. Residents are free to proudly display their creation in their room or gift it to a friend, family member or fellow resident. Residents are also given the opportunity to display it around Harrier Grange Care Home for all residents and visitors to admire.
Yes. The care home fee that you pay typically includes all of the activities residents participate in during their time with us at Harrier Grange Care Home. Art supplies are included within the care home fee.
Our Arts & Crafts workshops are held on a regular basis and last anywhere from one to three hours, depending on the activity. Every week, new schedules and activities are created, from spooky Halloween decorations to paper tissue Poppies for Remembrance Day, there is an activity for every resident to enjoy.
