Our Valentines Fundraiser Brought Love and Laughter to Harrier Grange

a lounge full of residents and visitors sat down enjoying a game of valentines bingo

On the 13th February 2026, our annual Valentine's fundraiser brought a wonderful sense of warmth and togetherness to our home. It was an afternoon filled with love and true community spirit, and we are so pleased to share that the event was an incredible success.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of our residents, their families, friends and our dedicated team, we raised double the amount we had originally hoped for. The funds will go towards our Resident Fund as well as the Make-A-Wish Foundation, supporting both meaningful experiences within our home and a very special cause beyond it. We are deeply grateful to everyone who contributed.

The afternoon itself was a joyful celebration. Family members and friends joined residents for themed bingo, a lively quiz and an exciting raffle, all thoughtfully organised to bring people together. The room was filled with smiles and gentle laughter as a little friendly competition unfolded for our quiz, with several generations coming together to share in the fun.

Our talented chefs truly outdid themselves and received many compliments for the beautiful High Tea they prepared. Guests enjoyed a delicious selection of sweet treats and savoury delights, all presented with care and attention. The dining room was specially decorated and the food added a special touch that made the day feel like a true celebration. It was heartening to see residents and their loved ones chatting over tea and cake and simply enjoying each other’s company.

Most importantly, the fundraiser created precious time for residents to be with those closest to them in a relaxed and uplifting setting. Seeing families gathered around tables, sharing stories and laughter, was a powerful reminder of why events like this are so important. It is these shared experiences that help create lasting memories and strengthen the sense of belonging within our home.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who attended, donated prizes, bought raffle tickets or helped behind the scenes. Your support made the day possible and helped us achieve something truly special. We are already looking forward to next year’s celebration and building on the wonderful sense of community we felt this year.
