We are fully committed to providing facilities within a safe setting that allows residents to get the most out of every day here at Harrier Grange Care Home. It is important to us that our residents are able to continue doing what makes them happy, whether it’s strolling through our tranquil gardens, socialising with friends and family in our private dining area, or taking a trip to visit the historical town of Andover.

Our dedicated Activity Coordinators plan the most engaging and stimulating activities, all shaped around our residents and their needs. Loved ones are always encouraged to join us for activities at any time and we also make sure to offer specific events where they are invited as we understand the importance of maintaining current relationships as well as building new ones. In addition, we have a Chauffeur-driven Mercedes ready to take our guests from one excursion to the next; the location of our home is in a great location for residents and their loved ones to explore the surrounding area.

Whether residents want to focus on staying active or wish to spend their days channelling their inner creativity, we believe that no two days should be the same, and we strive to make every day different and exciting for all of our residents. Our dedicated pair of Activity Coordinators work hard to ensure that an active and social calendar is always planned, taking the time to get to know all of our residents to make sure that there are activities for everyone to enjoy. Come rain or shine, Harrier Grange Care Home provides the perfect opportunity to bring everyone together and get the most out of each day.

Our residents have helped us perfectly shape our activities programme with weekly events such as entertainer visits, bingo, armchair exercises, church service, pet therapy, pub evenings and spa days. We also maintain strong community ties at our Hampshire care home and regularly visit places such as the garden centre, the army flying museum and local cafés and pubs.

A Home-Away-From-Home

Relocating to Harrier Grange does not mean a significant shift in the way our residents live their lives. Harrier Grange Care Home has a warm, community feel offering a number of first-class facilities and amenities from regular events and activities to taking time to enjoy a coffee in our residents’ cafe. Residents can spend as much or as little time participating in activities as they like and really make their environment truly their own while we provide a continuum of care.

We understand the importance of offering accessible, meaningful activities to every resident on every floor. While residents are welcome to join activities on any floor, we also provide dedicated sessions on our dementia floor, thoughtfully tailored to meet the needs of those living with memory loss. By making use of our carefully designed destination points, we create opportunities for sensory engagement, music therapy, and reminiscence. For those who prefer not to join group sessions or are unable to do so, individual visits ensure they can still enjoy enriching, one-to-one experiences. With full accessibility throughout the home, we create an inclusive environment where residents can always take part in the activities that matter most to them.

Entertainment & Activities FAQs

Pets do regularly come to visit residents at Harrier Grange Care Home; our Activity Coordinators often include pet Therapy within the Activity Programme as experience has shown that a little pet therapy goes a long way with the animals never failing to bring a smile to our residents faces.

We love to arrange excursions and day trips for our residents, on a regular basis. Our Activities Programme offers the opportunity to enjoy the local community in a variety of different ways. From visiting the Garden Centre, or Town Centre, the beautiful Anton Lake or to our closest church, there are a number of ways in which residents can get involved with the local community.

Entertainers love to visit us here at Harrier Grange Care Home and perform for their enthusiastic audience; from dancers to singers and musicians, and even an Elvis impersonator residents find great joy in watching a variety of performances. Residents have regular opportunities to watch performances from the comfort of their own home.

A number of our activities are designed to be inclusive of not only residents, but their loved ones also. We encourage residents to invite their friends and family to join in with us, from the Arts & Crafts sessions to enjoying a singer performer at the summer fete, everyone is welcome.
